December 2019 – December 2022: Senior Lecturer in Economics, Birmingham City University

  • Team management and curriculum development: Program Director for BA/BSc (Hons) Economics since Sep 2020. Duties include program administration, managing colleagues, student pastoral care, program evaluation and quality monitoring, design of new undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in economics, report writing, chairing meetings.

  • Academic leadership: Recruitment Lead for Economics since Sep 2020, Module team leader for Year 2 modules “Macroeconomics” and “Economics for Sustainable Development”, Personal tutor for Year 1 and 3. Duties include liaising with university marketing team to organise recruitment events and strategies, development and delivery of module curriculum and assessment, offering student support.

  • Research and policy impact: Research consultant for the United Nations and the South African National Treasury (Apr 2021–Mar 2022), Member of Centre for Applied Finance and Economics.

  • Interpersonal skills and equality: Universities and Colleges Union BCU branch women’s representative (academic year 2020/21). Duties included pastoral care for union members, leading on strategies for increasing gender equality, report writing, branch administration.

  • External examining: External examiner at Kingston University since Sep 2020. Duties include evaluation of module quality and assessment standards, providing feedback to module leaders.

  • Academic leadership: Module team chair and Exam board chair for Year 2 module “Running the economy”; Economics lead for Year 3 module “Applied statistical modelling”. Duties included managing colleagues, coordination and marking of assessment, quality monitoring.

  • Curriculum design: Design and editing of written and digital curricula for Year 1 module “Economics in context” and Year 3 module “Applied statistical modelling”.

  • Assessment design: Writing essay/exam questions, marker guidelines, and student guidelines for Year 2 module “Running the economy” and Year 1 module “Economics in context”.
